# UK Firestick 4K Streaming Setup & ADB Sideloading Guide

An open-source configuration guide and ADB command reference for sideloading, configuring, and optimising 4K IPTV streaming applications on Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and Fire TV Cube across British domestic broadband networks.

Maintained by the hardware testing team at [Best IPTV UK](https://bestiptvuk.vg/).

## 1. Prerequisites: Enabling Developer Options

Amazon Fire OS 7 and Fire OS 8 hide developer menus by default on recent firmware updates:

1. Navigate to **Settings** > **My Fire TV** > **About**.
2. Highlight your device name and click the **Select** button on your remote **7 times**.
3. A notification will display: *"No need, you are already a developer."*
4. Return to **Settings** > **My Fire TV** > **Developer Options**:
   * Turn **ADB Debugging** to **ON**.
   * Turn **Install Unknown Apps** to **ON** for your installer utility (Downloader).

## 2. Choosing Your Player: IPTV Smarters Pro vs TiviMate

For British domestic broadband users, two players deliver the highest stability for 50FPS live sports and 4K video streams:

* **IPTV Smarters Pro:** The most widely used player for quick Xtream Codes API login (Server URL, Username, Password), multi-screen viewing, and integrated EPG catchup.
* **TiviMate:** The preferred choice for advanced users requiring granular buffer caching, custom playlist sorting, and hardware decoder priority.

## 3. Fast Automated Sideloading via ADB Terminal

If you manage Fire TV devices across a local Wi-Fi network, you can bypass manual Downloader typing by deploying APKs directly over ADB:

```bash
# Connect to your Firestick via local IP
adb connect 192.168.1.150:5555
# Sideload IPTV Smarters Pro
adb install -r iptv_smarters_pro.apk
# Sideload TiviMate Premium
adb install -r tivimate_premium.apk
# Grant required storage permissions
adb shell pm grant com.nst.iptvsmarterstvbox android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
adb shell pm grant ar.tvplayer.tv android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
# Verify installed packages
adb shell pm list packages | grep -E "smarter|tvplayer"
```

## 4. Player Configuration & Hardware Decoding

To eliminate audio de-sync and playback stutter on BT Openreach, Virgin Media, and Sky fibre connections:

* **Hardware Decoder (H/W+):** In player settings (both Smarters Pro and TiviMate), switch video decoding from Software to **Hardware (MediaCodec)** to utilise the Firestick GPU.
* **Buffer Allocation:** Set buffer cache to **Medium** (2000 ms cushion). A small buffer causes match-day drops, while an oversized buffer causes channel switching lag.
* **Stream Format:** Select **MPEG-TS** or **HLS** depending on your provider stream headers for optimal 50Hz frame sync on UK televisions.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://best-iptv-uk-1.gitbook.io/best-iptv-uk-docs/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
